Learn to Surf

The SeaSide Ryde way

What happens in a Surf Lesson?

Our lessons involve a 90-minute class where you learn the fundamentals of surfing to have the best possible experience tailored to your needs.

The first portion involves 30 minutes of setting you up for success by familiarizing yourself with the equipment, pop-up stances, and basic water safety.

We then move onto getting you out into the water for the second portion, where everything you learned on the beach is put to the test. But most importantly, it’s all about the Ryde and the smiles that come with it!

Meet your Instructor

We are a close-knit group of people who have an undeniable love, respect, and admiration for the sport of surfing and the ocean. Growing up locally has allowed us to know these beaches and breaks like the back of our hands.

We want to share that same thrill with you!

We are here for surfers of all different skill levels. It doesn’t matter if you have been out a few times and want to build up your skill level or the first time you have ever even seen the ocean. Whatever the case might be, we are going to be there with you every step of the way to guide you and make it a fun experience: all the way from getting you sized up in a wetsuit to catching that very first wave. Surfing is a passion that’s hard to describe. For me, it’s a thrill that made me hooked from day one.

When I started teaching back in 2006, I instantly knew that this was something I wanted to share with people. At the end of the day, it’s that unforgettable ride and a smile from ear to ear that gets you back on that board the next day.
